Google detailed the Gemini app's July update on July 31, 2026. macOS users can speak to Gemini in an active window to dictate text, transform highlighted content or generate an image where the cursor is placed. The update also includes Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, which Google describes as offering better reasoning and greater speed. Gemini can connect with Dropbox, Zillow Rentals and Viator, and it can generate images using a saved user avatar. Deeply personalized images based on a user's interests were expanded to all users in the United States. An important availability limit applies: Gemini Spark is not available in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, Switzerland or Nigeria. Somali readers in those locations should therefore not expect access to Spark, although other Gemini features may be available depending on account, device and region.
