Tim Cook Hints at Paid iCloud Plus AI Upgrades
During an earnings call on Thursday, Apple CEO Tim Cook said he believes people will use Apple Intelligence and the upcoming Siri AI “a lot.” He added that iCloud Plus will offer “some kind of upgrade possibilities” through which people can “buy up the stack.” His remarks suggest Apple may let users pay to increase their AI usage limits. Apple plans to launch its long-delayed Siri AI broadly this fall with iOS 27. It can answer questions about content displayed on a user’s screen and take actions across apps. The release also includes a standalone Siri AI app with a ChatGPT-like interface. If Apple proceeds with these upgrades, Somali iPhone and iCloud users will have to weigh the value of greater AI capacity against the added cost of accessing it.
