Grimlore Games has released Titan Quest 2 update 0.7.0, introducing Spirit as the game’s sixth Mastery. It is aimed at players who enjoy Necromancer-style summoning in games such as Diablo, with options to command spirits, manipulate shades, harvest souls, and exchange life force for additional energy and power. Titan Quest 2 forms each character class by combining two Masteries, so Spirit expands the available build combinations. It includes 10 active skills and 26 passives, more passives than the earlier Masteries. Grimlore Games calls this the “first step towards a larger change” to passives that will gradually reach the existing Masteries. The previous three-feat limit on each passive has also been removed, giving players more freedom when shaping builds. Eidolon Guards are powerful spirits of fallen heroes that ordinarily remain on the battlefield only briefly. Players can add effects triggered when the guards are summoned or die, or sacrifice some of their own Life to extend the summons. Athanekros is a larger spellcasting summon that can become a backline damage dealer or a supporting buffer protected by the guards. Deathward Beam can be changed from a damaging skill into one that heals and strengthens summons, and it can also support allies in cooperative play. Soul Vortex pulls nearby enemies toward the centre of a large area. Its modifiers can weaken enemy resistances or strengthen allies standing within its radius. Update 0.7.0 also adds basic crafting. Players can replace an affix with a random eligible alternative, reroll an affix’s values, add affixes to an item below its permitted maximum, or give an epic item a one-time level boost. Crafting becomes more expensive each time an item is modified, preserving the value of finding new loot. Other changes include faster base movement, improved drops from non-boss elite enemies, and more common cooldown-reduction affixes. The base multipliers for critical and super-critical hits have been reduced slightly, while Doom and Lifesteal have received balancing changes. Many abilities can now reserve Life instead of Spirit, creating further possibilities for low-Life builds. Titan Quest 2 offers Somali players room to experiment with varied character builds at their own pace, particularly those who find the constant seasonal cycles of modern live-service games difficult to follow.
