Cryptocurrency exchange BitMart is considering a partial restart of its operations and payouts to its creditors, weeks after the platform announced it would shut down. To manage the process, the exchange has hired the law firm White & Case to serve as its restructuring counsel. The legal team is tasked with developing a detailed roadmap for the company's next steps, which is expected to be released by September 9. Somali users who held digital assets on the platform before the shutdown must wait for the September 9 roadmap to confirm whether the planned creditor payouts will cover accounts registered in East Africa or by diaspora users. Until the restructuring plan is published, any funds locked on the exchange remain inaccessible.
