Galaxy Gets 15-Year Texas Tech Stadium Naming Deal

Published:
Updated:

Galaxy has signed a 15-year agreement that will rename Texas Tech's football venue Galaxy Stadium beginning with the 2026 season. The new name is due to debut on September 5, when Texas Tech hosts Abilene Christian. Neither party disclosed the financial terms. The arrangement also names Galaxy the official data center and digital assets partner of Texas Tech Athletics. Planned work includes student-athlete name, image and likeness opportunities, artificial intelligence projects and workforce development. Why it matters: this is more than a stadium sign. Galaxy already operates the Helios data center campus in West Texas, so the partnership ties a sports brand to the company's AI infrastructure and digital-asset business. It illustrates how crypto companies are seeking a presence through universities and physical infrastructure as well as token markets.
